Becon Watertech is a privately owned South African company, established in 1975, to offer solutions in wastewater treatment applications. The company has a fabrication and engineering workshop and offices in Johannesburg with satellite offices and representation across South Africa, Botswana, Ghana, Nigeria, Seychelles and India.

Our reputable, established presence is based on offering appropriately assembled technologies and associated services to markets requiring simple, robust and affordable operating systems that demand little power consumption and operational input.

OUR MISSION

The company’s mission has been to develop sustainable, robust water and wastewater treatment plants utilising appropriate technology for rural area applications where low skilled operation of equipment and simple maintenance routines are required. This has proven to be popular across a diverse range of clients, including five star hotel and property development groups, multi-national mining houses, blue chip private companies, state owned utilities and local & national government departments and facilities including hospitals, clinics, schools, police stations, military camps and prisons.

OUR CAPABILITIES

Technologies and designs offered ranging from full turnkey to specific selected equipment, include conventional (flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, disinfection) drinking water treatment processes, membrane systems, electrolysis, fixed film (RBC) and activated sludge (MBBR) sewage treatment processes and sludge dewatering technologies. Treated effluent qualities meet global standards.

All design and development work for projects is undertaken in-house by the company and most mechanical and electrical equipment for water and wastewater projects are manufactured and assembled in the company’s own Johannesburg factory and Cape Town assembly site.

The company also undertakes the supply of pumping equipment, irrigation systems and borehole development and rigging.

We can offer full civil engineered reinforced concrete design systems to suit our specific mechanical equipment, including professional construction drawings and Bills of Quantity, and alternate steel skid mounted units or containerised units incorporating approved shipping dimensions and standards.

Our support services included in a turnkey approach or as individual services include site assessments, refurbishment of existing plants, operations and maintenance of plants as well as training.
